"The real daddy isn't just about the allowance": a sugar baby shares her experience

SB Sugar Brasil Team · Updated September 16, 2026 · 6 min read

At 29, she looks back on how she entered the sugar world at 22, when she met her first daddy at an upscale restaurant in São Paulo. For her, this kind of relationship involves far more than money.

There's a common assumption that a sugar baby is simply looking for a wealthy man willing to offer a generous allowance. Our interviewee's experience, however, tells a different story. Her identity has been withheld at her own request, and the account below has been lightly edited for clarity.

How she met her first daddy

How did you meet your first daddy?

"I was 22 and met him at a restaurant here in São Paulo."

She believes upscale environments can favor this kind of encounter.

"Yes, in upscale environments."

But, she says, simply being in the right place isn't enough.

"Beauty helps, haha, but talking at the bar helps a lot too."

She explains that you need to read the signs and stay open to interacting:

"It's not that easy. You need to really look into the eyes of the person you notice is looking at you, but once you're a regular at these places, you also get to know people like that."

Fear of being mistaken for prostitution

Have you ever worried about being mistaken for a sex worker?

The difference between a sugar relationship and prostitution still raises questions. For her, there's an important distinction:

"A sex worker charges by the hour. Sugar babies talk, want advice on growing in the business world, and of course, want to be spoiled the way a woman deserves."

She sums up her view:

"It's not quick, and it's not just sex."

When asked about the risk of being mistaken for a sex worker, she said:

"Yes, but there are limits, right? We don't just go out for one night."

For her, being clear about what each person is looking for is essential:

"What matters is clarity."

The biggest advantage of having a daddy

What was the biggest advantage of having a daddy?

Her answer wasn't only about money.

"The knowledge of the business world is really valuable."

She says the experience also changed her expectations of men:

"The advantage is that after my first daddy, I never again stayed with a man who could outshine me."

She adds:

"They really teach you how a woman is supposed to be treated."

That's why, she says, her standards changed:

"Anything less than that, you don't accept anymore."

It's not just about the allowance

Does a sugar relationship come down to an allowance?

For her, no.

"It's actually rare for a daddy to give a fixed allowance. Some do, but the real one doesn't stop at that."

Support can show up in other ways:

"He pays for college, bills, trips. A daddy wants to provide the best."

So her experience is more about a relationship of care and provision than simply a monthly payment.

Advice for anyone entering the sugar world

What advice would you give someone who wants to enter the sugar world?

Her recommendation is direct:

"Study every new topic in the daddy's world."

For her, a sugar baby needs to have interests and substance to bring to the relationship, rather than seeing the sugar world purely through a financial lens.

"A daddy can't stand empty girls."

And she concludes:

"Unfortunately, a lot of girls only think about money, but there's so much more behind a relationship like this."

For this interviewee, then, the sugar world is about conversation, knowledge, business, experiences, and expectations about how each person wants to be treated — not just an allowance.
